Mashburn Construction is pleased to announce that construction has started on a 19,000 SF addition and 15,000 SF renovation project at the Coastal Cancer Center in Myrtle Beach. The Center provides patients with cancer and blood disorders the most current advances in treatment close to the support and convenience of home. Patients are treated at five outpatient facilities throughout Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick Counties in Myrtle Beach, Conway, Loris, and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and Supply, North Carolina. Coastal Cancer Center provides a number of services for convenient and comprehensive care including chemotherapy administration, diagnostic testing and laboratory services. The addition/renovation project includes 1 PET-CT scanner, 1 CT scan and a 797 Clean Room.

Healthcare is a key market for Mashburn with close to 40% of project experience in the healthcare industry. Mashburn is partnering with the owners and Graham Group Architects, the design team, to provide preconstruction consulting and input on cost saving ideas. Working to keep the Center in operation during construction, Mashburn’s team has put a plan in place to address construction challenges which include a site logistics plan to minimize disruptions, plans for temporary walls and infection barriers and the roofing scope which includes removing and replacing the entire roof.
