Walbridge/Mashburn is excited to announce that the joint venture has recently been awarded the Continental Tire Greenfield Project, a brand-new tire facility in Sumter, SC. The new facility is being built in response to growing demand from tire retail and automotive manufacturers. Eight million tires are expected to be produced annually when the initial phases of the tire plant have been completed. “We are very pleased to have Wallbridge/Mashburn on board to lead the construction of our new plant in Sumter, said Craig Baartman, Sumter Plant Project Manager. “The experience of this organization is top notch and we look forward to working with them on this important project.” Continental expects to begin construction of the plant in mid-2012 and complete the facility in 2013. The plant project is expected to create more than 1, 600 jobs for South Carolina. ----- The joint venture of Walbridge/Mashburn was created to pursue large scale industrial projects throughout South Carolina.
