Mashburn Construction Receives Carolinas AGC "Best Contractor of the Year" Pinnacle Award Mashburn Construction was awarded the 2001 "Best Contractor of the Year" Pinnacle Award by the Carolinas Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) organization. The Pinnacle Award began in 1991 when the contractor members of Carolinas Strategic Plan Task Force envisioned a program honoring the "best of the best" in the Carolinas construction industry. The first Pinnacle Awards were bestowed in the spring of 1992. The awards ceremony is held each year during the Annual Convention of the Carolinas AGC. The Pinnacle Award is considered the most prestigious award given by the Carolinas AGC. The judging panel, consisting of 12-14 members, represents a cross-section of the Carolinas AGC membership: general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and services companies. Most judges are previous award winners, who understand the process of producing Pinnacle-level work. The judging is facilitated by an objective third party team. Greer & Walker, a CPA firm in Charlotte, NC, and the law firm of Johnston, Allison and Hord provide the facilitation service as part of their firms' Pinnacle Awards sponsorship.
