Good Life Café
Columbia, SC
This 2,200 square foot historic renovation and upfit provided an upscale café on Columbia’s Main Street. This project was part of the 43,000 square foot historic renovation of three buildings in the Agape Main Street Complex.
Numerous historic features were preserved, restored and/or reused, including: original steel windows; hardwood floors; tin ceilings and cornice; and plaster finishes. Additional windows that had once been blocked-in were also uncovered and restored.
Our project team minimized disruption to the existing retail spaces on both sides of this tight downtown site.
The Agape Main Street Complex project was honored with the Historic Preservation Award for Excellence in Adaptive Use by the Historic Columbia Foundation, as well as the Preservation Honor Award by SC Historic Preservation.
