Mashburn Construction’s project-specific Quality Assurance and Control (QA/C) plan spans the entire construction process and consist of four stages.
Stage 1 of the QA/C program focuses on analyzing the contract documents to understand the Owner’s expectations, anticipate potential quality issues, and plan the work accordingly. This stage ensures that we are building a quality project from the beginning.
During stage 2, we carefully select capable trade contractors through a competitive process who are capable of meeting the demands of the project to fine-tune our approach to quality challenges.
During Stage 3, we finalize a project-specific QA/C plan that guides our team’s quality leadership efforts. We make sure the quality standards are clear to each trade contractor, taking care to thoroughly answer all of their questions. By effectively preparing each trade contractor, we reduce the risk of costly interruptions and rework during construction, and pave the way for on-time delivery of a facility that meets the established quality standards.
During Stage 4, which covers the construction phase, we will monitor installation activities daily to ensure high standards of quality are met in both the construction process and the finished product. We will also perform or oversee specified inspections and tests to provide assurance that the building’s structure and systems are sound, durable and perform to the owner’s expectations.
This four-stage approach to assuring quality provides multiple opportunities to identify and correct potential quality problems before any work has been put in place. Through our commitment to thoroughly understanding the project, proactively communicating quality standards to the trade contractors, and following through to ensure those standards are being met, Mashburn provides dependable and proven leadership in quality assurance.
A safe job site is critical to the success of any project. Safety begins with the weekly job site safety meetings led by our Superintendents, strict enforcement of fall protection guidelines, OSHA training classes and much more. An accident-free project ensures each worker makes it home each day, reduces insurance costs and project delays, and maintains a standing reputation for quality work.
Mashburn has developed a safety program that complies fully with all OSHA requirements. Safety is an ongoing process at Mashburn with all employees dedicated to its fulfillment. Our state-of-the-art-training facility located in our corporate office is used for classroom training, computer labs and hands on safety training.
Jobsite safety meetings are held weekly and are mandatory for all jobsite workers. Superintendents follow the outline provided by Association of General Contractors Toolbox Safety talks. Additionally, Superintendents will select a safety topic applicable to current jobsite status and an inspection report is completed. These practices will ensure a safe and productive jobsite.
The USGBC defines LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)ᅠas: “an internationally recognized certification system that measures how well a building performs across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor air quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.”
