Mashburn Construction completes Irmo Wellness Center
Columbia, S.C.— Mashburn Construction is pleased to announce the completion of Irmo Wellness Center, a two-story medical office building in Irmo. The 43,480 SF building is located at 7182 Woodrow Street. The building was constructed using 66 tilt-up concrete panels, where each concrete wall panel is formed and poured flat on the ground and gets “tilted” in place and supported with an internal structural steel frame. This type of building allows for a more aggressive schedule and a most cost-effective approach for the client.
This is the second building that Mashburn has constructed for SC Internal Medicine. The first one was constructed in 2004, which was outgrown, and the company selected Mashburn to complete their new building. There are 7 tenants in Irmo Wellness Center including: South Carolina Internal Medicine, Columbia Podiatry, Rejuvenations Medical Spa, Columbia Rehab, Quest Diagnostics, Palmetto Imaging, and Palmetto ENT. The exterior tilt-up panels include a brick veneer and inlay along with ample parking. The interior lobby holds a water feature to welcome customers.
