Clemson, S.C. — Congratulations to our President, Paul Mashburn, who received this year's Distinguished Alumnus Award by Clemson University! The award is presented by the University's Department of Construction Science Management.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is given annually to an alumni member of Clemson University's Department of Construction Science and Management who graduated a minimum of 10 years prior to the award. Nominees have distinguished themselves since graduation in a construction field and have consistently demonstrated support of the Construction Science Management Department.

Paul graduated from Clemson University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Science and Management. He joined Mashburn Construction after graduation and in 2010 he was named President and Chief Operating Officer. One of Paul's greatest strengths is his unique ability to view the job from multiple perspectives including the field employees, superintendent, designer, and owner.

Paul is very active in many civic and construction organization around the community. He serves on the Associated General Contractors of America Carolinas Chapter Board of Directors, Commercial Design Review Board for the Town of Mount Pleasant, Charleston Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Past Chairman Columbia Rotary Club, and former President of the Columbia Contractors Association. Currently, Paul is a member of the Charleston Contractors Association and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Clemson Architectural Foundation and the CSM Industry Advisory Board Executive Committee. As President of Mashburn Construction, Paul has made sure the company continues to help fund various department projects, hires the department's interns and permanent employees and is a Corporate Partner.
