Mashburn Executive Leader Accepts Role on CAGC Board

Columbia, S.C. — Richard Kinard, longtime leader of Mashburn Construction’s Coastal Division has accepted a position on the Carolinas Association of General Contractors (CAGC) Board of Directors. The prestigious board is made up of 16 professionals with immense construction knowledge and an aptitude for service within the industry. CAGC is a construction trade association made up of contractors and construction-related firms that perform work in North Carolina and South Carolina. The organization is a chapter of the AGC of America (AGC) and the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

Among 15 other construction experts, who are also serving in various roles on the board, Richard will serve his term as “Building Division Chair.” He brings more than two decades of construction experience to the organization along with a unique perspective through his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida. In this role on the board, Richard will focus on continuing education for building contractors, recruiting ambassadors, identifying training opportunities and creating a more diverse membership base.

Last year, Mashburn celebrated the promotion of Richard to Executive Vice President. He previously served as Vice President of the Coastal Division. In his new role as Executive Vice President, Richard will focus more holistically on adding value to the firm’s preconstruction and business development efforts across the entire company, while also aiming to further diversify the company’s portfolio and backlog.
