Mashburn was selected for the restoration of an existing retail space on the corner of one of the busiest intersections in downtown Columbia, SC. Mashburn worked closely with the owner and architect to complete this 9,500 SF project, which doubled the space. The project, which was originally slated to take 4-5 months, was completed in only 3 months to greet anxious customers for the holiday season. The scope of work included a poured slab in kitchen (which was once a dirt slab), renovations to house two cooks lines for the tenant, seating capacity for a private party of up to 55 people off of the cook line, construction of a Mezzanine structure, a brand new mechanical system that doubled the exisitng system (VRF), a 55-65 person private dining area, as well a two other private dining areas with video capabilities with seating for 20 guests. Other featuers included a service bar, a chilled wine cellar, decorative covering of 4 large structural concrete columns and poured concrete dining room floors. A structural steel canopy was installed on the exterior to add outdoor seating area and millwork included a bar top made of a 3,900 pound sapele mahogany wood imported from Africa. Mashburn aslo completed the installation of specialty doors and reclaimed wine barrels that lined the ceiling in one of the private dining rooms.
