This project was part of a three-building historic renovation at 1224 Taylor Street in downtown Columbia.
The scope of work included selective interior and exterior demolition, s new lobby with an elevator/shaft, as well as conventional wall density and up-scale finishes. The scope of work for the exterior included reworking and partial restoration of the Taylor Street façade. Other work included selective interior and exterior demolition, a stair atrium at tje front, a light well and small roof patio in the center, exposed structure throughout, light wall density and millwork, as well as a heavy amount of tenant-provided systems furniture and carpet tile. The project has won numerous awards (2019 GlobeSt.Adapt Opportunity Zones Award; 2019 Best Hotel Columbia Metropolitan Magazine; Best Hotel Free-Times; 2018 American Institute of Architects Columbia Chapter People’s Choice Award; 2018 American Institute of Architects Columbia Chapter Divine Detail Award; 2019 Historic Columbia Foundation Adaptive Use Award). Furthermore, the BOUDREAUX space (Powell Building 2nd Floor) is LEED Commercial Interiors Certified.
