Mashburn collaborated with LS3P to successfully deliver this design-build project. It consisted of the construction of two new buildings for a restaurant, entertainment and music venue (a 15,663 SF themed restaurant and a 2,200 SF retail building). The facility was slated to serve 5,000 guests per day. Joining Barefoot Landing’s new walkable dining district, Dockside Village, LuLu’s featured an outdoor playing area with a mammoth sand box called the “Fountain of Youth.” Other exterior amenities included covered outdoor dining space with 30 foot Live Oaks surrounding the building. Interior features included 20 TV’s, an indoor sound stage for live entertainment and fourteen overhead doors. The bar was constructed out of reclaimed hardwood pines from North Carolina, reclaimed tin and hand-painted bar columns. The kitchen had $800,000 worth of state-of-the-art equipment and a dual chiller to accommodate a large cooler, freezer and ice machine. The building was also equipped with an extensive HVAC system.
