This project represented the first phase of the Myrtle Beach Market Common mixed-use residential and retail development, the largest urban village of Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand area. The team’s work consisted of three buildings for a total of 108,606 SF. The two four-story buildings offer 75 apartments built above first-level retail space, while the third building provides all retail space. This project featured some unique challenges. Due to the unusually coarse soil conditions, all of the foundations on this project required undercutting.
Our team worked with the developer to manage over 20 different retailers in an aggressive 12-month construction schedule, and were able to complete the project ahead of schedule and under budget. Our team also provided extensive pre-construction consulting including value analysis, scheduling and budgeting.
