Ocean Lakes Family Campground

The Ocean Lakes Family Campground encompasses 893 campsites and 2,560 annually leased sites. With 30,000 guests using the 310-acre vacation destination, management realized they had outgrown their existing Olympic-sized pool. Ocean Lakes trusted Mashburn to expand their aquatics facility on very little space, surrounded by live oaks and without disruption to the integrity of the land.

This project consisted of several new buildings including: administration, lifeguard, first aid, restrooms, pump/filtration building with frozen drink bar and two new entry shelter structures. Mashburn also completed an Interactive Kids Water Play Pool and Tots Water Play Pool totaling 21,900 SF and 376,000 gallons of water as well as an Adventure Lazy River, Timed Mat Racer Waterslide and Circular Tube Slide. The work also included deck and pool lighting; pool decking and paving; demolition, site work, landscaping and irrigation.

Our team worked closely with staff and security to ensure guests were not disturbed. In order to reduce disturbance to guests, our team began work at 8 a.m. and were finished by 5 p.m. The entire project was unique – combating the water table in such close proximity to the beach meant our team had to dewater the entire project from start to near-completion. This project had a completion date prior to Memorial Day that had to be met; Mashburn was able to complete the project 10 days early.
