Persona Pizzeria

Columbia, SC: The Main Street renovation for Persona Pizzeria was comprised of a 1,800 square foot upfit in a prime downtown location and offers the first Southeast location for the restaurant. The space features a serving line, seating, kitchen and storage space. The custom-built pizza oven was unloaded and set in place during early morning hours to prevent disruption to the location’s major intersection. Our team executed the placement of the oven without blocking traffic or affecting pedestrian access to neighboring businesses. The historic building required a permanent structure to be built in the crawl space to support the custom pizza oven as well as a temporary support structure for when the oven was brought into the building to be set in place. Structural work was performed in the basement crawl space to work around existing plumbing and electrical lines in addition to those that had to be rerouted for the new restaurant configuration.
Irmo, SC: Soon after the completion of the downtown location, the Owner chose Mashburn to complete their second location in the heart of Irmo’s shopping district. The 2,000 square foot renovated space was part of Jewelry Warehouse; the jewelry store was separated from the space for the restaurant, allowing Jewelry Warehouse to remain open during construction. Other challenges our team faced were coordinating on-time deliveries with the Owner and limited laydown space. A cantilever was constructed to support an existing bulkhead wall and a grease trap was tied into existing site utilities.
