Riley Park Club

Charleston, SC

Owners of Joseph P. Riley Stadium wished to enhance the baseball park by providing a rentable space with its unique view of the Ashley River and marsh. The club level space was added to the existing stadium foot print with multiple transitions from new construction to the existing structure at the roof, elevated floor deck and exterior facade.

Unique features of the space include: the drink rail along a portion of the baseball field curtain wall; the reclaimed wood flooring and bar top; flat screen TVs that lower from the ceiling; and an AV wall with two 80” flat screen TVs.

The marsh side of the stadium created an environment where a conventional crane could not be utilized on the existing elevated slab so a specialized crane was brought in. Special cantilevered scaffolding was erected over the marsh in order to install the exterior facade due to the limited access to the elevation of the building near the marsh.

The aggressive schedule required completion before opening day. Mashburn undertook additional scope with two weeks remaining in the original schedule and renovated an existing stairwell that provides access to all levels of the ball park.
