Sensor Electronic Technology, Inc. (SETi)
Columbia, SC
Our team worked with SETi, the world’s leading maker of ultraviolet light emitting diodes (UV LEDs), to expand its operations in Richland County. Both phases utilized the design-build delivery method, coordinating closely with the Owner to ensure programming and functional needs were achieved to allow for efficient operation of their proprietary manufacturing process.
Phase I – The initial phase of the company’s expansion plan included retrofitting a 12,000 square foot existing facility & purchasing new property. The client required specific project parameters for their research department, as well as for the clean room and production areas.
Phase II – The new 24,000 square foot addition provided extra office space, conference rooms and break room, as well as unfinished future expansion space. Production and warehouse space includes two 2,000 SF ISO 6 and ISO 7 Clean Rooms along with ISO 8 Gowning areas and clean cross connections to existing production operations. Cross corridor connectors were utilized to provide code-compliant building separation and to allow for a secure, concealed mechanical equipment yard. A brick façade and storefront elements highlight the connector element and provide natural lighting in office and production spaces.
