The Pinch
Charleston, SC
Mashburn worked alongside LS3P to complete this multi-building development which is comprised of multiple buildings in Charleston: 334, 336 and 332 King Street, as well as 36 George Street. Two of the buildings, 334 and 332 King Street, are connected. Mashburn demolished 334 King Street and providing restoration services to the building’s façade as well as interior renovations to the historic Bob Ellis Building at 332 King Street. Mashburn constructed a 3-story building which houses 24 rooms for the hotel while also providing retail, restaurant and café space on the ground floor. The fourth building, 36 George Street, is a standalone house from the 1830’s. Mashburn restored the façade of the building as well and completed interior renovations.
The first floor of the hotel houses a restaurant and bar. The second floor provides additional suites for the hotel. The unique combination of demolition, new construction and historic restoration on a tight, historic site in downtown Charleston made it imperative that Mashburn provided strategic sequencing and coordination with subcontractors and the City.
