Town of Kingstree Fire and Police Station

Kingstree, SC

This was a design-build project of a one-story, pre-engineered metal building that features five hi-bay doors. The building was built to serve dual purposes as both a rural police station and a fire station, which required extensive discussions about the layout and best use of space. The scope of work included brick veneer with decorative brick arches at the front door openings, heavy duty concrete pavement throughout, men’s and women’s dormitories for 24-hour emergency services and a full kitchen with a hood. Special circumstances of the project included working to meet a specific budget as well as Mashburn’s coordination with the Town of Kingstree for self-performance of water and sewer utilities.
