Mashburn Construction celebrates completion of new state-of-the-art pet campus in Nexton

Columbia, S.C. – Mashburn Construction announces the successful completion of GoDog Nexton, a pet hospitality facility located at 652 Scholar Way in Summerville, South Carolina. The project delivers a highly specialized environment designed to support GoDog’s full-service pet care operations and marks another milestone in Mashburn’s growing portfolio of hospitality and specialty construction projects.

GoDog Nexton was built to support a full range of pet care services, including daycare, overnight boarding, grooming, and a future outdoor social component. The 11,188-square-foot facility required durable materials, secure layouts, and careful coordination to meet the demands of a high-traffic pet hospitality environment. Construction details were intentionally designed to support sanitation requirements, operational efficiency, and secure daily use across multiple service areas.

“As a master-planned community, Nexton is designed to anticipate evolving lifestyle needs,” said Dan Doyle, President at The Beach Company, “and as The Beach Company brings a best-in-class pet hospitality provider like GoDog to the community, it reflects both strong regional demand and a commitment to deliver amenities that add real value for residents and the greater Summerville area.”

Mashburn Construction worked closely with the developer, The Beach Company, alongside ownership team led by Ben Eberdt to ensure the facility was well aligned with their vision. Mashburn worked in-step with MJM Architects to execute the project on schedule, coordinating site development, building construction, and interior build-out. Special considerations included indoor play areas, boarding rooms, bathing stations, and infrastructure to support future Phase II components.

“We were proud to partner with The Beach Company on this highly specialized project and appreciate the confidence they placed in our team,” said Richard Kinard, Executive Vice President of Mashburn Construction. “Projects like GoDog Nexton reflect our continued growth across diverse markets and the strength of our workforce, whose expertise allows us to consistently deliver a high-quality building experience.”

GoDog Nexton is now open and operational, providing pet care services to the Summerville area. The project reflects Mashburn Construction’s ability to deliver specialized commercial facilities that align with client operations and long-term growth plans.
