Mashburn Construction completes expansion in downtown Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, S.C.— Mashburn Construction has completed renovations for its Myrtle Beach office in the Arts & Innovation District of downtown Myrtle Beach. As part of a bigger master revitalization plan spearheaded by the city, Mashburn was the first to purchase property within the district. The company began construction on the historic building earlier this year. Residents and visitors will continue to see construction on the block fronting Nance Plaza where the firm is working on several other projects.
The building sits on the south end of Nance Plaza and has undergone a full transformation. “We wanted the new office to represent the authentic character
of the community and include both modern and historic elements. Mashburn has had a presence in Myrtle Beach for decades and we are proud to officially
announce that our expansion is complete,” says Lee Mashburn, President of Mashburn Construction.
The new 2,500 SF office, located at 807 North Kings Hwy., was renovated using historic tax credits, allowing the some of the building’s original character
to be maintained. The building was home to the Darden Jewelers store which was present in Myrtle Beach during the 1960’s. Mashburn purchased the building
last year and began renovations shortly after with the help of LS3P Associates. The firm took advantage of the tax credits through the district being
certified in the National Register of Historic Places through the City of Myrtle Beach.
This will be Mashburn’s fourth location in South Carolina. Richard Kinard, VP of the Coastal Division will lead both the Myrtle Beach
and Charleston offices for Mashburn. “We intend to continue to expand our footprint and project portfolio throughout the Grand Strand. Project activity
is thriving right now, and we are looking forward to seeing some exciting deals become finalized soon,” says Kinard.
Mashburn is also renovating the neighboring building for a brewery client and looks forward to assisting in more of the transformation of downtown
Myrtle Beach’s Arts & Innovation District.
