Columbia, S.C.— Mashburn Construction, is pleased to announce the hire of Josh Kay as Director of Business Development for the Myrtle Beach and Pee Dee region.
Josh, a certified International Economic Developer, joins the team with an immense amount of experience in economic development, lead generation consulting, and municipal management within the state of South Carolina. Josh has a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree from Presbyterian College.
He is also heavily involved in the community serving on many boards and councils. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association as well as a member of the Horry County Comprehensive Planning Committee, the School Improvement Council for the Academy for Arts, Science, & Technology, and is an ordained elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach.

As a current resident of Myrtle Beach, Josh’s skills in business development, recruitment, and marketing will allow us to continue to demonstrate our commitment to the region providing general contracting services in this market and its surrounding areas. Josh is married to Lauren and they have two children, Gracen (17) and Caroline (12).
Josh and his family will remain living in Myrtle Beach and he looks forward to continuing to grow the Mashburn Construction Myrtle Beach office in his home community.
Mashburn recently announced beginning of the first five story tilt up building in South Carolina, the Grand Strand Medical Office Building being constructed at 920 Doug White Drive in Myrtle Beach. The company continues to “build better communities” across the state.
