Mashburn Invests in Charleston with Office Expansion
Mt. Pleasant, S.C. — Mashburn Construction has completed the expansion of their Charleston office, adding to the company’s overall presence on the coast. The company renovated an existing building that sits adjacent to their current location at 1202 Chuck Dawley Blvd., in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Renovations to the 2,000 SF, single-story building at 1210 Chuck Dawley Blvd., were completed in December of 2020. The addition to Mashburn’s Charleston location provides five new offices and a second conference room. The revamped building allows for the extra space required to accommodate the company’s growing needs.
The structure, originally built in 1958, received numerous updates to the exterior and interior. Visitors are now welcomed by a fresh stucco façade with wood-like Hardie gables and soffits. Each entry way dons custom steel and cypress trellises. Inside, Mashburn incorporated reclaimed wood from a historic project in downtown Charleston, as well as custom millwork and stained cypress cabinets. Mashburn collaborated with PMC to create a workspace that would bridge the design aesthetics of the space through textures and finishes while also providing long-term comfort and durability. LS3P Associates LTD., provided architectural services and Live Oak Consultants served as the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. These firms are all local to the Charleston area. Mashburn utilized only subcontractors local to the Lowcountry to complete this project.
